He Tohunga o Hikuai / The Wizard of Oz 'Hikuai Version'

Every three years we put on a whole school production. Our last production took place in 2018 and was titled 'Te Tohunga O Hikuai'. It was based around the story 'The Wizard of Oz' with a local Hikuai specific twist. The production was a huge success. Parents and the community came along to the Hikuai Hall for a fantastic night of performance, music and laughter.

The entire production was written and produced by the students, an amazing display of student agency for all involved. We formed a school band that performed and sang throughout.
